Color: ORM/YOD3: Orange red medium petals with yellow orange dark sepals bicolor Parentage: Notes: "Throat color near cadmium yellow, extending out along the midrib of near garnet brown petals, with more intense color in the veins. The sepals have a ground color of cadmium yellow with areas of red sap pigments that are much less intense than in the petals. In comparison with [its sister] Festival, the petals are shorter and not twisted. The ground color is less orange and more yellow and the red sap pigment is much less fully bicolor." A.B. Stout in Herberaia Vol 10, 1943. He explained that this clone, marked for elimination, was accidentally mixed with Festival at the nursery and got into circulation. Elmer Claar published a description of the "not Festival" plant and Stout decided to name it for him. |
