“The flowers are full, widely open, almost cadmium yellow in color and somewhat odorous.” A.B. Stout, Daylilies, 1934. Stout continues with information from the 1932 Journal of the Royal Horticultural Society that “there are four different clones growing in their trial grounds which were received as Apricot. One of these was given the Award of Merit.” Bloom size given as 3″ in the Farr Nursery catalog of 1937 and as 3.5″ in Webber, Daylily Encyclopedia, 1988.
